The Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority approved the initiation of the cooperation protocol between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Sinai University across its branches

The Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority approved the initiation of the cooperation protocol between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Sinai University across its branches, aimed at training internship students from all medical sector faculties as part of the outcomes of the "Training of Others" regulation issued under the decision of the Board No. (15) of 2024.

The Board of Directors also approved the publication of the technical regulations for the "Care" Nursing Institutes affiliated with the Egypt Healthcare Authority in the Official Gazette.

The Board of Directors provisionally approved signing a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide the services of the Egypt Healthcare Authority to them and approved treating specific nationalities as per the law as Egyptians.

The Board of Directors adopted the authority's penalty regulations, confirming the reuse of the penalty fund resources for spending on healthcare, social care, and employee services.


Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance project, chaired the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Authority No. (78), during which a series of important decisions aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the provinces covered by universal health insurance were made.

During the meeting, the Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority approved the activation of the cooperation protocol with Sinai University, targeting the training of internship students from all the university’s medical faculties in the authority’s hospitals. This protocol is one of the outcomes of the "Training of Others" regulation, issued by the decision of the Board No. (15) for the year 2024.

The Board also approved the publication of the technical regulations for the "Care" Nursing Institutes affiliated with the Egypt Healthcare Authority in the Official Gazette.

The Board also provisionally approved signing a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide the services of the Egypt Healthcare Authority to them and approved treating certain nationalities as per the law as Egyptians.

The Board approved the adoption of the authority's penalty regulations, emphasizing the reuse of the penalty fund resources for spending on healthcare, social care, and employee services.

Attending the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Authority No. (78) were Dr. Ihab Abu Aish, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority for Universal Health Insurance, Dr. Osama Abdel Hai, General Syndicate of Physicians, Dr. Sami Saad, General Syndicate of Physiotherapy, Dr. Kawther Mahmoud, General Syndicate of Nursing and member of the Senate, Dr. Fareed Mahram, a healthcare cost accounting expert and economic advisor to the Egypt Healthcare Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Fakhr, a civil society member from healthcare experts, Counselor Mohamed Farouk Moussa, Deputy Head of the State Council.

From the Egypt Healthcare Authority, the meeting was attended by Dr. Amir Tolwani, the Executive Director of the Authority, Dr. Ahmed Hammad, Advisor to the Chairman of the Authority for Health Policies and Systems, and General Manager of the General Administration for the Technical Office of the Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Gamal Ratib, Advisor to the Chairman of the Authority for Actuarial Studies and Head of the Central Administration for Institutional Support Services, Counselor Mohamed Shehata, the Legal Advisor to the Authority, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim, General Manager of the General Administration of Legal Affairs, and Mrs. Rasha Shaker, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority.
