The Egypt Health Care Authority signed a protocol with the Fahem Foundation for Psychological Support to collaborate in the fields of increasing awareness about mental health issues

The Egypt Health Care Authority signed a protocol with the Fahem Foundation for Psychological Support to collaborate in the fields of increasing awareness about mental health issues, reducing stigma, and training healthcare providers in mental health awareness and crisis intervention by offering help and human support during crises.

President of the Egypt Health Care Authority: "Our collaboration with the Fahem Foundation aligns with the Authority's vision to enhance the quality of life for Egyptian citizens, improve their living standards, provide high-quality healthcare services, achieve justice and social inclusion, and include mental health services according to the recommendations of the national dialogue for including therapeutic mental health services in the comprehensive health insurance system package."

President of the Egypt Health Care Authority: "The collaboration will include workshops and training courses to build capacities and enhance the skills and knowledge of the Authority's staff in the field of mental health and primary care providers, training them on evidence-based practices to deliver mental healthcare services at the highest standards."

President of the Egypt Health Care Authority: "The collaboration will also provide mental support services to needy groups in the provinces where the system is applied, including providing competent psychologists and psychiatrists trained to raise awareness about mental illnesses, educate youth and families about mental illness, its dangers, and treatment methods in a safe environment."

The Egypt Health Care Authority announced the signing of a bilateral cooperation protocol with the Fahem Foundation for Psychological Support, during the Africa Health ExCon 2024, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, from June 3 to June 6, under the motto "Your Gateway to Innovation and Trade."

The protocol was signed by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the Egypt Health Care Authority and Supervisor General of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Hayat Karema projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, and Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel Shahid Wassef, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fahem Foundation for Psychological Support, Dr. Hani Rashid, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egypt Health Care Authority, and Dr. Lamis Najm, a board member at the Fahem Foundation for Psychological Support, with the presence of several leaders and officials from both sides.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky expressed his pleasure in signing the cooperation protocol with the Fahem Foundation for Psychological Support, highlighting the cooperation in the fields of increasing awareness about mental health issues, reducing stigma, and training healthcare providers in mental health awareness and crisis interventions to provide help and human support during crises.

Dr. El-Sobky confirmed that the cooperation with the Fahem Foundation is part of the Authority's vision to improve the quality of life of Egyptian citizens, enhance their living standards, and provide high-quality healthcare services while achieving justice and social inclusion by including therapeutic mental health services as part of the comprehensive health insurance system package.

He added that the cooperation will involve workshops and training courses to build capacities and enhance the skills and knowledge of the Authority's staff in the field of mental health and primary care providers, focusing on evidence-based practices for providing mental healthcare services at the highest standards.
