Signing a Memorandum of Understanding to Establish a Specialized Medical Pathway for Heart Disease Treatment and Expertise Exchange

During the Arab Health 2024 exhibition and conference in Dubai, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, the head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and the General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, along with the President of General Electric Healthcare for Global Markets and the Regional Director for the company, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding. This memorandum aims to establish a specialized medical pathway for treating heart diseases and exchange expertise in areas such as digitizing services, training, building healthcare capabilities, and partnership models between the public and private sectors.

Dr. El-Sobky emphasized the importance of collaborating with General Electric to enhance patient experience through access to the latest technologies and practices in healthcare for more accurate and effective disease treatment, and to foster development and innovation.

He stressed the significance of digitizing healthcare services and continuous training to develop the skills of healthcare personnel, enhancing the partnership with the private sector to achieve comprehensive, distinguished, and sustainable healthcare.

The President of General Electric Healthcare for Global Markets expressed his pleasure in cooperating with the Egypt Healthcare Authority and looked forward to more collaboration with Egyptian healthcare institutions in the future.

The Regional Director of General Electric Healthcare for the Middle East region remarked that the Egypt Healthcare Authority has become a model for commitment to continuous medical and therapeutic service improvement, digital health activation, and enhancing partnership with the private sector in the region.

Dr. Amir Talwani, the Executive Director of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, representing the Authority, and Engineer Mohamed Haroun, the General Manager of General Electric Healthcare for Northeast Africa, representing the company, signed the protocol. The signing was attended by leaders and managers from different departments within the Egypt Healthcare Authority, and representatives from General Electric Healthcare, including Vassilis Sakas, the Regional Director for Integrated Solutions at the company, and Engineer Mohamed Eid, the Strategic Projects Manager for Northeast Africa at the company.

Dr. El-Sobky highlighted the importance of the memorandum of understanding with General Electric Healthcare, explaining that it includes collaboration to establish a specialized medical pathway for heart disease treatment, access the latest technologies and practices in healthcare for more accurate and effective disease treatment, and exchange expertise in digital service areas and healthcare technology. It also involves building the skills of healthcare personnel through advanced training programs and exploring the best partnership models between the public and private sectors.

He affirmed the Authority's eagerness to explore ways to exchange expertise and enhance joint cooperation in healthcare with various sectors, whether governmental, private, or civil, highlighting the importance of cooperation with General Electric in line with the Authority's vision and goals towards achieving distinguished and sustainable healthcare, improving patient experience, and enhancing community health through strategic partnerships like this, reflecting a strong commitment to achieving this vision and enhancing the development of the healthcare sector as a whole.
