The President's Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs, the head of the Healthcare Authority, the President of Takeda for Ukraine, the Middle East and Africa, and the Ambassador of Japan witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Healthcare Authority and Takeda Egypt.

The head of the Healthcare Authority: We aim to cooperate with Takeda Egypt to establish a comprehensive oncology practice unit within the healthcare facilities affiliated with the Authority in the comprehensive insurance provinces, and to train service providers on the latest medical operation management, diagnosis, and treatment programs according to international standards.

Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, the President's Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, head of the Healthcare Authority and Supervisor General of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, Mr. Rodrigo Rodriguez, President of Takeda for Ukraine, the Middle East and Africa, and Ambassador Oka Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Egypt, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Healthcare Authority and Takeda Egypt, during the celebration launched by the Authority today.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Amir El-Talwany, the Executive Director of the Healthcare Authority, representing the Authority, and Dr. Sami Khalil, the General Manager of Takeda Egypt, representing the company, in the presence of senior figures and healthcare leaders from both the government and private sectors in Egypt.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, head of the Healthcare Authority, expressed his happiness for signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Healthcare Authority and Takeda Egypt, as part of the celebration of the Egyptian Doctor's Day for the year 2024. He mentioned that this memorandum is an important step towards enhancing strategic cooperation between the Healthcare Authority and Takeda to develop healthcare, especially in the field of oncology. He continued: Establishing a comprehensive oncology practice unit within the healthcare facilities affiliated with the Authority in the comprehensive insurance provinces and developing a specialized training program for service providers represents a commitment by the Healthcare Authority to provide the best healthcare services for patients in Egypt.

He added that the Healthcare Authority believes in the importance of strategic partnerships with the private sector in achieving our health goals, and sees Takeda Egypt as a reliable and committed partner in improving healthcare and providing innovative medical solutions. El-Sobky mentioned that signing this important memorandum between the Healthcare Authority and Takeda Egypt reflects the Authority's continued efforts to enhance value-based and quality healthcare, by enhancing patients' access to specialized and effective oncology treatments, which contributes to improving life quality and increasing the chances of recovery for those with cancer. It also involves developing specialized training programs for service providers, offering them an opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge in medical operation management, diagnosis, and treatment, ensuring the provision of high-quality and innovative health services.

By this Memorandum of Understanding, both parties agree to collaborate in supporting the establishment of a comprehensive oncology practice unit within the healthcare facilities affiliated with the Healthcare Authority in the comprehensive insurance provinces. This collaboration includes developing a specialized training program for service providers in these facilities to train on the latest methods of medical operation management in the field of oncology. In addition to setting performance quality indicators to measure the program's success in improving patient outcomes and adherence to international standards, it also aims to conduct research and analytical studies on cancer diseases and patient care development and disseminate them with scientific and international institutions and bodies.
