Today, I attended the first executive council meeting of the Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) in 2024. Alongside my colleagues, who are leaders and advisors of EHA, we assessed and analyzed the performance of the authority's branches across the governorates, which are responsible for implementing the universal health insurance system. This evaluation was based on comprehensive reports for each branch in 2023, taking into account specific performance standards and indicators. We evaluated various aspects, including clinical, financial, administrative, quality, and beneficiary satisfaction, to gauge the overall performance of each branch. This process aims to drive improvements within the Egypt Healthcare Authority. Moreover, we also examined the future plans of EHA, with the valuable insights of a select group of international experts and successful partners of EHA. This allowed for a broader discussion of relevant topics from an international perspective.
