The Executive Director of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce praises Egypt's leading experience in health reform and comprehensive health coverage, as well as the governmental district project in the New Administrative Capital, confirming that cooperation with the healthcare authority will be a priority on the chamber's agenda for the upcoming period due to the observed clarity, seriousness, and advanced and progressive thinking in healthcare.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, the head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and the supervisor of the comprehensive health insurance and decent life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, met with Mr. Jan Noether, the Executive Director of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Dr. Karin El-Shafei, the General Manager of Operations at the German-Arab Chamber, and Dr. Ziad Erfah, the Director of the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Sector at the German-Arab Chamber, to discuss ways to exchange expertise and enhance mutual cooperation, at the headquarters of the authority in the New Administrative Capital.
The meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation between the healthcare authority and the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce to promote the development of the healthcare sector in Egypt. The discussions revolved around deepening strategic cooperation and exchanging expertise and knowledge to advance the healthcare sector, achieve sustainable transformation, and localize international expertise in Egypt.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the authority and the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce to achieve comprehensive improvements in healthcare. An agreement was reached to sign a cooperation protocol aimed at exchanging expertise and knowledge in various fields, including healthcare, pharmaceutical management, health technology, automation, and artificial intelligence usage, as well as training healthcare providers.
El-Sobky added that there was also an agreement to hold a workshop for dialogue with the health group and pharmaceutical companies affiliated with the German Chamber, aiming to define future cooperation strategies and develop joint action plans. This workshop will contribute to enhancing cooperation and achieving tangible progress in healthcare.
Furthermore, as part of expanding the horizons of cooperation, an agreement was reached on exchange visits and organizing field trips for representatives of the healthcare authority to major German hospitals to learn about the latest technologies and developments in global healthcare. El-Sobky noted that this would facilitate the exchange of expertise and mutual learning between the two countries, enhancing technical and professional capacities in healthcare.
In addition, there was an agreement on coordination for representing the Egypt Healthcare Authority at the largest healthcare exhibitions and conferences in Germany, like MEDICA, and fostering cooperation with leading companies in the German healthcare sector to encourage investment in healthcare in Egypt.
The Executive Director of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce commended Egypt's pioneering experience in health reform and comprehensive health coverage and praised the government district project in the New Administrative Capital. He confirmed that cooperation with the healthcare authority would be a priority on the chamber's agenda in the upcoming period due to the clarity, seriousness, and advanced, progressive thinking observed in various healthcare areas. Through joint cooperation, both Egypt and Germany can benefit from shared expertise and knowledge to achieve a better health future for both societies and promote progress and innovation in this field.
Representatives from the Egypt Healthcare Authority participating in the meeting included Dr. Magdy Bakr, advisor to the head of the authority for technical affairs; Dr. Ahmed Hammad, advisor to the head for health policies and systems; Dr. Mostafa Garab, supervisor of partnerships with the pharmaceutical sector; and Dr. Nada El-Shishtawy, a member of the technical office of the authority's head.
