Egypt Healthcare Authority Board of Directors Approves Strategic Decisions During 81st Meeting
The Board of Directors of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, led by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, has approved several strategic initiatives during its 81st regular meeting. These decisions are part of the Authority's forward-looking vision to enhance healthcare services and operational efficiency.
The Board approved the establishment of Egypt's first specialized center for telemedicine sciences and healthcare AI applications, aiming to enhance diagnostic accuracy and advance virtual healthcare services.
The Board also provisionally approved the establishment of a Continuous Professional Training and Development Center to enhance the capabilities of the Authority’s workforce in line with the highest global standards.
Additionally, the Board sanctioned a package of free healthcare services for Egyptian pilgrims under the Universal Health Insurance system. These include teleconsultation services via the "El-Balto" application and free medical follow-ups through a dedicated call center until the pilgrims return from the holy sites.
In another strategic move, the Board approved the renaming and repurposing of Hod El-Dars Hospital in Suez Governorate to the Suez Women's and Children's Health Center, with a focus on delivering integrated, specialized healthcare services for women and children.
The meeting concluded with the approval of the third edition of the pricing schedule for services provided to non-beneficiaries, medical brokerage firms, and private health insurance companies. Additionally, the Board endorsed the final report of the Asset Handover Committee for the governorates of Suez and Ismailia, in accordance with Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2679 of 2024.
