Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority launches the first Healthcare Supply Chain Forum under the theme Supplying the Future

In the presence of leaders and representatives from the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority the Egyptian Drug Authority the World Health Organization and a distinguished group of international experts the Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority launches the first Healthcare Supply Chain Forum under the theme Supplying the Future The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority states that supply chains are a cornerstone for quality and safety and that the Authority is cooperating with the Unified Procurement Authority and the Egyptian Drug Authority to achieve sustainability in the provision of medicines and medical supplies and to localize industry confirming that the state's focus and cooperation with international partners have contributed to Egyptian pharmaceutical exports surpassing one billion dollars with expectations to reach three billion dollars by 2030 driven by strong political will The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority adds that meticulously executed supply chain operations valued at 4.4 billion EGP for medicines and 3.5 billion EGP for medical supplies have been achieved with savings of 489 million EGP thanks to smart inventory management systems and the recycling of medicines and supplies worth 547 million EGP The Chairman further asserts that ongoing efforts and close cooperation have resulted in a high availability rate of over 98 percent in medicines across the Authority’s facilities stating that the Authority remains the least affected by shortages and waiting lists and has completed the launch of its Enterprise Resource Planning ERP system to achieve greater successes He commends the national efforts of the Unified Procurement Authority the Egyptian Drug Authority and the EHA supply chain teams emphasizing that continuous collaboration and building on past successes guarantee healthcare services worthy of Egypt’s stature and contribute to restoring confidence in the national public healthcare system The Unified Procurement Authority highlights that the Egypt Healthcare Authority is a key success partner and together they are working on localizing medical device manufacturing and achieving comprehensive digital transformation to ensure ongoing successes and sustainability The Egyptian Drug Authority affirms that their fruitful cooperation with the Egypt Healthcare Authority supports the national industry with the pharmaceutical market exceeding 300 billion EGP and Egypt exporting medicines to over 147 countries The Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Public Health Initiatives notes that the Egypt Healthcare Authority is a successful model for implementing the Universal Health Insurance System emphasizing that efficient supply chain management is critical to strengthening the healthcare sector’s resilience particularly during crises The CEO of the African Business Coalition for Health presents international experiences through Zoom highlighting healthcare supply chain resilience and strategies for ensuring service continuity amid challenges The WHO representative states that the organization is leading a regional initiative to strengthen local production and develop supply chains noting Egypt's leadership role in achieving health equity and sustainable development The Advisor to the Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority for Supply Affairs stresses that supply chains are a fundamental pillar for service delivery with the Authority pioneering the development of an integrated system based on international expertise and a unified operational manual The Forum honored outstanding individuals and entities contributing to the advancement and development of healthcare supply chains The event included discussion sessions and presentations on the experiences of health authorities in supply chain management and digital transformation featuring both live presentations and a documentary film showcasing the Egypt Healthcare Authority’s supply chain system
