Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, the head of the Egypt Health Care Authority and the general supervisor of the universal health insurance and Hayat Kareema projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, conducted a surprise inspection tour of several health facilities under the authority in Ismailia Governorate, one of the first governorates to implement the universal health insurance system.
During his visit, Dr. El-Sobky inspected Fayed Specialty Hospital, where he reviewed various departments, including reception, emergency, outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, operating rooms, intensive care units, dialysis, and laboratory and radiology departments. He noted that more than half a million medical services had been provided to beneficiaries of universal health insurance at Fayed Specialty Hospital, including 130,000 outpatient services, 27,000 medical and laboratory examinations, and 36,000 dialysis sessions. He also ensured the availability of medical supplies, protective equipment, and medications.
Dr. El-Sobky continued his tour by visiting the Fayed Family Medicine Center to check on the efficiency of the family medicine system and the services provided in the various clinics. He spoke with patient satisfaction teams and highlighted that the center had delivered over 230,000 medical services, including first aid, family medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, and medical and laboratory examinations.
Throughout his tour, Dr. El-Sobky listened to the opinions and suggestions of healthcare providers to improve services, emphasizing the importance of providing the best care for patients, especially the elderly and people with disabilities, while enhancing communication and adherence to quality standards.
Dr. El-Sobky also solicited feedback from citizens on the medical services provided at the facilities and listened to their suggestions for improving medical services and patient experience.
He commended the efforts of the medical, administrative, and operational staff at the Egypt Health Care Authority facilities and affirmed the authority's ongoing support for healthcare services development.
This tour is part of Dr. El-Sobky's continuous field visits to the health facilities under the Egypt Health Care Authority in the governorates covered by the universal health insurance, aimed at monitoring operations and ensuring the quality of health services provided to citizens.
