Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority Continues Late-Night Surprise Visits to Health Facilities in Universal Health Insurance Governorates

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance system conducted a late-night surprise visit to health facilities in Ismailia Governorate, one of the first-phase governorates under the Universal Health Insurance system. These visits are part of his ongoing efforts to inspect the Authority’s facilities in various governorates, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

During his visit, Dr. El-Sobky inspected the Ismailia Medical Complex and the 30th of June International Center for Kidney Diseases and Urology, along with their various departments. These included the emergency departments, evening clinics, intensive care units, and inpatient wards at the Ismailia Medical Complex, as well as the dialysis services at the 30th of June International Center. The visit aimed to monitor operations and ensure that patients receive top-quality healthcare services.

Dr. El-Sobky also reviewed the quality of the electronic systems in place at the Ismailia Medical Complex and the 30th of June International Center to ensure the delivery of advanced services and facilitate citizens’ access to healthcare. He engaged with patients to gather their feedback on the speed and quality of services and directed the provision of medication to a dialysis patient under the initiative to deliver medications free of charge to individuals with chronic diseases at their homes.

The Chairman commended the quality of healthcare services provided at the Ismailia Medical Complex and the 30th of June International Center for Kidney Diseases and Urology. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high performance standards and continuously improving services to achieve the highest levels of patient satisfaction.

Dr. El-Sobky highlighted that over 5 million medical and therapeutic services have been provided through the Ismailia Medical Complex and the 30th of June International Center, including:

  • 650,000 emergency services
  • 10,000 intensive care services
  • 73,000 surgeries
  • 210,000 dialysis sessions

He reaffirmed the importance of conducting surprise visits as a key strategy to monitor on-ground operations. These visits play a crucial role in verifying the quality of healthcare services provided and continuously enhancing performance standards. Dr. El-Sobky reiterated that the ultimate goal is to improve the quality of healthcare services and ensure citizens receive the best possible care.

Dr. El-Sobky was accompanied on his inspection tour in Ismailia by Dr. Amir El-Telwany, Executive Director of the Authority; Dr. Ahmed Hammad, Policy and Healthcare Systems Advisor to the Chairman and Director General of the Technical Office; and Dr. Mohamed Shaban, Director of the Evaluation and Monitoring Department at the Authority.
