Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, conducted an intensive field tour that included a number of health facilities affiliated with the Authority in Aswan Governorate in order to follow up on the progress of work, measure operating efficiency, and assess the quality of services provided to citizens within the framework of the comprehensive health insurance system.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki inspected the Aswan Oncology Center, and during the visit directed a comprehensive development of the center to become an integrated center of excellence for diagnosing and treating oncological diseases. He also stressed the importance of complete digital transformation within the center and the necessity of daily coexistence within the authority's facilities with leaders and cadres to ensure the unification of work systems and achieve the highest levels of efficiency, discipline, and continuous training.
Dr. Al-Sabki also inspected the Al-Khazan West Family Medicine Unit, checked on the efficiency of implementing the family medicine system there, and listened to the opinions of beneficiaries and citizens about the quality of medical services provided, directing the continuation of improving the patient experience and strengthening preventive and awareness health services.
At Aswan Specialized Hospital, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky followed up on the various departments, was briefed on the level of services provided, and directed a direct link between the emergency and crisis management room and the central electronic system to ensure the speed of dealing with emergency cases and achieving the highest possible operational efficiency. He also inspected the Specialized Ophthalmology Hospital affiliated with the Authority in the governorate.
During his tour, Dr. Al-Sobki announced that Aswan Specialized Hospital provided more than 400,000 medical services to beneficiaries of the comprehensive health insurance system, while the Specialized Ophthalmology Hospital provided about 90,000 services, and the number of services at the Aswan Oncology Center reached more than 59,000 since the actual operation of the system.
In an incentive gesture, the chairman of the authority directed the disbursement of an incentive bonus to distinguished medical and administrative staff at Aswan Specialized Hospital and Al-Masala Specialized Hospital in appreciation of the commitment and quality of performance he saw within the facilities.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky also held an extensive meeting with the leaders of the Authority's branch in Aswan Governorate, directors of health facilities, and a number of health care service providers, during which he praised the distinguished efforts of the workers, considering their honorable performance a direct result of the close cooperation between the central and regional leaders and the branch of the Authority.
The head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority stressed that the tangible development achieved in the level of health services provided in the governorate since the start of implementing the comprehensive health insurance system reflects a fundamental difference in the reality of the health service, noting that citizen satisfaction is at the top of the Authority's priorities in implementing the directives of the wise political leadership that places the human being at the top of its priorities.
For his part, Dr. Hani Rashid, Vice President of the Health Care Authority, pointed out that Aswan Governorate occupies an advanced position on the Authority's priority map during the current stage by supporting the efforts of fully operating the Authority's health facilities in the governorate and applying the highest standards of quality and accreditation in providing health services in order to achieve the goals of the comprehensive health insurance system and ensure the provision of integrated and safe health care to citizens.
During the meeting, Dr. Amir Al-Talwani, Executive Director of the General Authority for Health Care, reviewed the comprehensive health insurance model applied in Port Said Governorate and all governorates implementing the system, noting that they are successful models and experiences that are being transferred and expertise to Aswan Governorate to ensure achieving the best operating results.
During his participation in the meeting, Major General Maher Hashem, Assistant Secretary General of the Governor of Aswan, expressed his great appreciation for the performance of the work team led by the Authority, stressing that the team combines knowledge, competence, team spirit, and high professional values, which is a major secret in the success of the comprehensive health insurance system.
Dr. Mohamed Nashaat, Head of the Upper Egypt Region at the General Authority for Health Care, also described the launch day of the comprehensive health insurance system in Aswan as a historic day in the process of advancing the health sector in the governorate, stressing that what was achieved is the result of successful institutional and leadership cooperation.
At the end of the tour, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky stressed the importance of real-time monitoring of performance within all health facilities, directing the necessity of providing the best health service to patients, and at the same time appreciating the great efforts made by Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, in supporting the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system in the governorate, which contributes to consolidating the success of the system and achieving its development and humanitarian goals.
It is worth noting that Aswan Governorate is the sixth and last governorate in the first phase of implementing the comprehensive health insurance system, with the official announcement of the completion of the implementation of the first phase of the system. It is also the second governorate in Upper Egypt to witness the actual operation of the system after Luxor Governorate.
