The Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority discusses with BIOMERIEUX Egypt and HYPHENS Solutions enhancing strategic cooperation to develop laboratory and diagnostic services, promote digital transformation, and apply artificial intelligence in the Authority's facilities in the comprehensive health insurance governorates

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care, met with representatives of BIOMERIEUX Egypt and HYPHENS Solutions to discuss prospects for strategic cooperation in the fields of reference laboratories, rapid diagnosis, and digital transformation within the governorates implementing the comprehensive health insurance system, which contributes to supporting the quality of health care and raising the efficiency of medical diagnostic and analysis services.
The meeting discussed ways of cooperation to establish central and advanced reference laboratories in the governorates of the Canal and Upper Egypt regions, including the governorates of Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, South Sinai, Luxor, and Aswan, to be a focal point for serving the Authority's health facilities in these governorates. These laboratories are scheduled to be equipped with the latest diagnostic and analytical technologies, ensuring accurate and rapid results that keep pace with the highest international standards in medical diagnosis.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki stressed that the Authority attaches great importance to the medical laboratories file as part of its strategy for the continuous development of the diagnostic services system, stressing that establishing reference laboratories equipped with the latest analysis technology is an important necessity to enhance health justice and accelerate access to accurate diagnosis in all regions of the governorates, which contributes to providing the best service and health care to patients.
In a related context, the meeting discussed launching an expanded awareness campaign to combat blood poisoning, "Anti-Sepsis," aiming to raise community and medical awareness of the risks and methods of prevention and early detection, in addition to implementing advanced training programs for medical and nursing staff in the authority's health facilities.
Dr. Al-Sobki stressed that combating blood poisoning is not only a clinical priority but also a societal responsibility that must be built on scientific foundations, in parallel with public awareness and building the capabilities of medical teams.
The discussion also touched on research into integrating artificial intelligence and data analysis technologies into the Authority's medical laboratories and linking them to the unified information system used within the Authority, allowing biological data to be analyzed in real time and enhancing the speed and accuracy of medical decision-making.
Dr. Al-Sabki explained that the Authority already has an advanced digital system and that integrating artificial intelligence into its laboratories represents a new step towards enhancing operational efficiency, reducing diagnosis time, and raising the quality of service provided to the patient.
The chairman of the Egypt healthcare authority added that the coming period will witness a broad start in building strategic partnerships with the private sector in the field of providing advanced diagnostic services, stressing that the authority is moving towards the idea of building integrated diagnostic complexes within the governorates of the comprehensive health insurance system, supported by the latest expertise and technology necessary to achieve a qualitative shift in this vital sector.
For their part, representatives of BIOMERIEUX Egypt and HYPHENS Solutions expressed their great pride in cooperating with the General Authority for Healthcare, which is the first government agency in Egypt to cooperate with in this regard. They stressed that this partnership represents the real beginning of a qualitative transformation in medical diagnostic and analysis services and praised the Authority's move towards establishing an integrated health model based on quality and technology, which contributes to achieving Egypt's vision towards universal health coverage.
