Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki met with the Governor of South Sinai The Chair and members of the Health Committee of the House of Representatives

During his visit today to South Sinai, Dr. Ahmed El-Sabki, Chief of the Egypt Health Care Authority, met with the Governor of South Sinai, the Chair and members of the Health Committee of the House of Representatives, a high-level parliamentary delegation, and leaders from various health sectors. They engaged in significant discussions focused on the continuous enhancement and development of health services in South Sinai.

Dr. El-Sabki stated, "President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has paid great attention to the residents of Sinai, prioritizing their healthcare. The development efforts in Sinai, a precious part of Egypt's land, emphasize its placement at the forefront of the comprehensive and sustainable development map aimed by the state and political leadership to be achieved across the nation as per Egypt's Vision 2030."

Dr. El-Sabki highlighted that more than 1.4 million medical services have been provided in hospitals, centers, and primary healthcare units in South Sinai for beneficiaries of the comprehensive insurance system up to now. Moreover, 20 health facilities have received full and preliminary accreditation to ensure that the services meet global standards.

He celebrated the success of Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital in obtaining international recognition from the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network (GGHH) as the first governmental green hospital in Egypt and also securing international accreditation for healthcare quality (JCI). He affirmed, "We are advancing in obtaining international accreditations for our health facilities to enhance Egypt’s leadership globally in healthcare and medical tourism."

Dr. El-Sabki noted that South Sinai houses 31 healthcare facilities offering primary, secondary, and tertiary care under the comprehensive insurance system, including the upcoming Al Fayrouz Medical Complex and the Sharm El-Sheikh Field Hospital among six others and 23 medical and family care centers, all equipped with the latest infrastructure, automation, and digital transformation.

Furthermore, Dr. El-Sabki mentioned that more than 100,000 citizens in South Sinai have been registered under the comprehensive health insurance system so far, covering more than 80% of the targeted population in the governorate with a project cost exceeding 3.2 billion EGP.

He reiterated the ongoing implementation of the political leadership's directives to continuously develop the healthcare system to keep up with the latest global standards, stating, "Healthcare is a fundamental pillar for comprehensive development and citizen satisfaction is the supreme goal of the Egypt Health Care Authority."

Dr. El-Sabki also emphasized the strategic objective of transforming South Sinai into a regional and global center for medical tourism under the "We Care for You in Egypt" initiative, describing medical tourism as a strategic project to maximize resources, increase the country's foreign currency reserves, and promote economic growth in Egypt.

He appreciated the continuous field visits and evaluations by the Health Committee of the House of Representatives to assess and monitor the performance of the comprehensive health insurance system in South Sinai, highlighting the importance of these visits to enhance cooperation between legislative and executive bodies to continually improve and develop the healthcare provided to citizens.
