The Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority welcomed the CEO of Eco Medical of the UAE, and together they inspected "Sharm El-Sheikh International," "Saint Catherine," and "New Dahab Specialty" hospitals in South Sinai.
The Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority stated: "We possess advanced, green, internationally accredited hospitals equipped with the latest medical equipment and technologies, and qualified healthcare staff, enabling us to implement the largest medical tourism programs. We are also in the process of establishing the first hyperbaric medicine center in Egypt to serve beach tourism and diving enthusiasts."

This meeting was part of the successful implementation of the cooperation protocol signed between the Healthcare Authority and Eco Medical during the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference in Dubai "Arab Health" 2024, aiming to attract global healthcare investments and investors to Egypt.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation to attract global healthcare investments to Egypt, especially from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, with the UAE being the largest investor. A comprehensive presentation was given on the capabilities of the Healthcare Authority's facilities across Egypt, including the unique geographical nature of South Sinai, models of partnership between the public and private sectors in Egypt's healthcare sector, and the endless opportunities provided by the Universal Health Insurance system for healthcare investment in Egypt.
The meeting included a tour of several Healthcare Authority facilities in South Sinai, starting with Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital, inspecting various departments, and showcasing the hospital's capabilities as the first green hospital in Egypt to receive international recognition from the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network (GGHH).
The tour also included Saint Catherine Hospital and the under-construction New Dahab Specialty Hospital, set to open in July, which will house Egypt's first hyperbaric medicine center.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky noted that the Healthcare Authority owns advanced, green, internationally accredited hospitals with the latest medical equipment and technologies, and qualified staff, capable of implementing the largest medical tourism programs. He mentioned the exploration of establishing the first comprehensive green medical city in Sharm El-Sheikh for medical tourism, in collaboration with the private sector, as part of encouraging investment in Egypt's healthcare sector. He outlined three business models for public-private partnerships, including infrastructure investment, partnerships for operating and managing developed healthcare facilities, and integrated models combining construction and operation of medical cities or hospitals in Egypt.
Dr. El-Sobky affirmed Egypt's qualitative leap in creating an investment-attractive climate for comprehensive and sustainable healthcare sector development. He highlighted the Universal Health Insurance system's role in enhancing South Sinai's appeal for major healthcare investments and medical tourism.
Dr. El-Sobky invited the CEO of Eco Medical of the UAE to attend the International Conference on Health Tourism, scheduled under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in early March at the New Administrative Capital.
