The Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and the Vice President of IQVIA Global witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Authority and IQVIA Global. This agreement aims to implement the latest healthcare technology solutions and artificial intelligence applications in the health sector.
The Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority announced the establishment of an academy to train professionals in medical coding, data management, and analysis. Additionally, the creation of a digital research platform was highlighted, which will enhance disease prediction, ensure health mapping, and support decision-making as key areas of cooperation between the two parties.
The Head emphasized that the memorandum of understanding with IQVIA follows a successful collaboration in digitizing the universal health insurance system. It focuses on developing healthcare technology solutions, applying artificial intelligence in healthcare, and supporting health economics.
"We have an ambitious plan to graduate specialists in medical coding and health data sciences," said the Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority. He stressed the importance of partnerships with leading international technology companies to restore Egypt's role as a regional hub for health technology.
The success of the universal health insurance system's digitization results from the concerted efforts of the government, relevant state bodies, and the pivotal role of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. He affirmed that the relationship between the public and private sectors is a developmental partnership of a complementary nature.
The Vice President of IQVIA Global expressed anticipation for a technological leap in Egypt's and the region's health sector through partnership with the Egypt Healthcare Authority, adding to their shared successes. He emphasized the company's commitment to supporting the Egyptian government's digital transformation initiative.
He appreciated the vital role of the Egypt Healthcare Authority in leading digital health in the region and viewed Egypt as a country with a clear vision for developing and governing its health sector. He expects Egypt to lead in digital health within a few years.
