As part of examining the effectiveness of the official operation of the comprehensive health insurance system in Aswan Governorate, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, is conducting an extensive inspection tour today in Aswan Governorate to ensure the quality of health services provided and operation within the health facilities affiliated with the Authority.
The tour comes in light of the Authority's keenness to closely monitor the level of performance of health services provided within the comprehensive health insurance system and to ensure the readiness of facilities to provide health care with high efficiency in a way that meets the needs of citizens and achieves satisfactory levels of service within a safe and equipped health environment.
Dr. Ahmed El Sobky began his inspection tour by visiting the new headquarters of the authority's branch in Aswan Governorate. The tour is scheduled to include a meeting between Dr. Ahmed El Sobky and Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and institutional integration in supporting the state's efforts to develop the health sector in the governorate and achieve the strategic objectives of the comprehensive health insurance system in Upper Egypt.
The tour also includes a visit to a number of health facilities affiliated with the Authority in the governorate, most notably Al-Masalla Specialized Hospital, Al-Khazan West Family Medicine Unit, Al-Shallal Family Medicine Unit, Specialized Ophthalmology Hospital, Aswan Oncology Center, and Aswan Specialized Hospital, where the Chairman of the Authority follows up on the regularity of work within these facilities, the level of technical and medical preparations, and the efficiency of operation on the ground.
The tour also includes holding an expanded meeting with leaders and directors of central and public departments and health facilities affiliated with the Authority in the Aswan branch in order to review performance indicators, follow up on work plans, and identify opportunities for continuous development and improvement in a way that ensures the continuity of the quality of providing integrated health care to the people of the governorate.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky stressed that the official operation of the comprehensive health insurance system in Aswan Governorate reflects the state's commitment to consolidating comprehensive health coverage and developing Upper Egypt in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030, noting that Aswan represents a pioneering model in providing a disciplined and effective health service that takes into account justice and human dignity and places the citizen at the heart of attention, reflecting the national vision to build an integrated and sustainable health system.
Al-Sobki added that field tours are an essential tool for monitoring the progress of work and measuring the impact of the service on the ground, which enhances citizens' confidence in the system and contributes to developing work mechanisms and improving the experience of beneficiaries within the Authority's facilities, in line with the requirements of the next stage in the new republic.
It should be noted that Aswan Governorate is the sixth and last governorate in the first phase of implementing the comprehensive health insurance system, with the official announcement of the completion of the implementation of the first phase of the system, and it is also the second governorate in Upper Egypt to witness the actual operation of the system.
As part of his field tours in Aswan Governorate today, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, met with Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, to follow up on developments in the official operation of the system within the governorate and to monitor the progress of work in the health facilities affiliated with the Authority.
During a press conference held at the governorate's general office, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky stressed that comprehensive health insurance is one of the most prominent achievements of the Egyptian state during the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and one of the most important humanitarian and developmental gains of the new republic, noting that the strong political will of the president was the first driver for achieving this giant national project that guarantees the dignity of treatment for every citizen.
Al-Sabki also announced the start of the trial operation of Al-Sabaiya Hospital as soon as possible during the current month, noting that the rehabilitation and operation of Nasr Al-Nuba Hospital will be completed within the next two months, which will contribute to enhancing the capacity of care services in the governorate.
The chairman of the authority stressed the importance of accelerating the development of the Health Insurance Hospital in Aswan and transforming it into an integrated medical complex with a capacity of 400 beds to provide specialized services that meet the needs of patients efficiently.
Al-Sabki explained that the Authority will work to conclude a number of cooperation protocols with universities, most notably Aswan University, to introduce precise and advanced medical specialties into the Authority's hospitals in the governorate in a way that supports qualitative specialties and contributes to localizing advanced health services in Upper Egypt.
Al-Sobki added that the authority operated three new primary health care facilities last week, bringing the number of working family medicine centers and units to 92 out of 112 targeted facilities, while continuing efforts to enhance health awareness in the community, according to a map of the most common diseases in the governorate.
Al-Sobki stressed that all beneficiaries of the comprehensive health insurance system in Aswan Governorate enjoy comprehensive insurance coverage, without any discrimination or distinction, stressing the state's continuation of providing health care as an inherent right for every citizen.
He pointed out that the first phase of the comprehensive health insurance system constituted a major turning point in the health care scene in Egypt, while the second phase is preparing to complete construction towards a comprehensive, fair, and integrated health system that covers all Egyptians efficiently and sustainably.
For his part, Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, stressed that the official operation of the comprehensive health insurance system in the governorate is a historic moment added to the record of major achievements made during the era of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, noting that this step brought joy to the hearts of the people of the "Witch of the South," in light of the comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the new republic in all fields, most notably the health sector.
