The Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, who also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the General Supervisor of the Universal Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, announced the successful accreditation of 21 healthcare facilities in Aswan, the second Upper Egyptian governorate to implement the Universal Insurance system.
The Egypt Healthcare Authority clarified that the medical facilities, which have received preliminary accreditation according to the internationally recognized GAHAR national standards by the global ESCWA organization, include family medicine units in "Aswan Island, Mahmoudiya, Abu Al-Rish, Al-Shallal, Kima, Al-Bayyara, Sheikh Mustafa, Al-Daqadiq, Abu Simbel, Al-AwdaLab, Ja'far Al-Sadiq, Al-Nuzl, Al-Sharawna, Hajar Al-Basiliya, Al-Kalla West, Al-Sharfa, Al-Allaqi, Qustul, Al-Khazan West," in addition to two family medicine centers in "Al-Sayl, Kom Ombo."
The statement highlighted that the accredited family medicine units and centers have provided nearly 200,000 medical services to beneficiaries of the Universal Insurance in Aswan so far. These services include first aid, family medicine, pediatrics, women's health, dental care, and other primary healthcare services, accounting for about 80% of the citizens' healthcare needs.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Head of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, affirmed that the successful passage of the preliminary accreditation standards by the Aswan healthcare facilities affiliated with the Egypt Healthcare Authority paves the way for them to achieve full accreditation. This success underscores the quality and efficiency of the facilities, the quality of work outputs, and strongly indicates the Authority's commitment to providing high-quality medical services and healthcare according to international standards.
He appreciated all the efforts made by the teams and everyone involved in enabling the facilities to meet the preliminary accreditation standards, aiming to improve the quality of healthcare services, meet the needs and aspirations of the community, and advance towards achieving Egypt's vision for sustainable health development by 2030.
