The Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs, the Governor of South Sinai, and the President of Egypt Healthcare Authority witnessed the signing of (3) cooperation protocols between Egypt Healthcare Authority and leading Arab, regional, and global entities for the development and enhancement of health tourism.

The President of Egypt Healthcare Authority stated: Health tourism is an integrative project involving national entities, ministries, the private sector, and civil society. We continue to strengthen cooperation and foster strategic partnerships in line with the political leadership's directives to enhance resources and improve economic growth.

The President of Egypt Healthcare Authority further stated: Our internationally accredited healthcare facilities feature advanced infrastructure, information systems, state-of-the-art medical equipment, qualified healthcare staff, and competitive prices. This enables us to implement extensive medical tourism programs and provide the best healthcare services for international patients.

The President of Egypt Healthcare Authority added: We have successfully penetrated medical tourism markets in Africa and Eastern Europe in the past period and aim to enhance our international presence and access new markets in the upcoming period. Our investment in healthcare is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and transformation.

The President of Egypt Healthcare Authority expressed pride in the conference's success, which was sponsored by President El-Sisi and attended by the Prime Minister. It yielded significant results and recommendations, including the development of a national strategy for health tourism and the signing of several cooperation protocols between various entities for the development of health tourism.

Egypt Healthcare Authority, under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed Elsobky, Chairman of the Authority's Board of Directors and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance and Haya karima projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, announced today the signing of three cooperation protocols with leading regional and global entities to develop and promote health tourism.

The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din, Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs and former Minister of Health, Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, and Dr. Ahmed Elsobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, in the presence of Dr. Hani Rashid, Vice Chairman of the Authority's Board of Directors, along with various leaders from ministries, authorities, institutions, and leading healthcare companies. This took place during the second day of the International Conference on Health Tourism in Egypt, held in the New Administrative Capital on March 2nd and 3rd of the current month.

Egypt Healthcare Authority clarified that the first protocol was signed with New Master Company for Integrated Medical Activities, represented by Dr. Amir El Telwany, the Executive Director of Egypt Healthcare Authority, on behalf of the Authority, and Dr. Ahmed Sorour, the Executive Director of New Master Company, on behalf of the company.

The second protocol was signed with Lotus Healthcare Tourism Company and Voyager Global Solutions (VGS), with Dr. Amir El Telwany representing the Authority, Dr. Hossam Sharaf El Din, the Executive Director of Lotus Healthcare Tourism Company, representing the company, and Ms. Sarina Caracos representing VGS. Additionally, the third protocol was signed with the UAE-based LGA Group, with Dr. Amir El Telwany, also representing the Authority, and Dr. Ahmed Monir, the Founder and Chairman of LGA Group, representing the group.

Dr. Ahmed Elsobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority, stated that health tourism is an integrative project involving nation entities, ministries, the private sector, and civil society. He emphasized that Egypt Healthcare Authority continues to strengthen cooperation and form strategic partnerships with major international entities and institutions, in line with the political leadership's directives and Egypt's vision towards successful collaboration to enhance resources and improve economic growth.

Furthermore, Dr. Elsobky highlighted that the Egypt Healthcare Authority internationally accredited healthcare facilities with advanced infrastructure, information systems, state-of-the-art medical equipment, qualified healthcare staff, and competitive prices. These allow for the implementation of extensive medical tourism programs and the provision of the best healthcare services for international patients. He noted that these protocols include cooperation in providing medical tourism services for foreign visitors from various countries, exchanging experiences, and promoting their programs in Egypt. Moreover, they involve establishing referral centers for foreign patients in targeted countries or clinics in hotels in tourist provinces in Egypt, as well as collaborating to attract investors and healthcare investments to Egypt from various countries worldwide.

Dr. Ahmed Elsobky emphasized: "The signing of these protocols reflects our commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector in Egypt and achieving Egypt's Vision 2030. The Egypt Healthcare Authority has successfully penetrated medical tourism markets in Africa and Eastern Europe in the past period, and we now aim to enhance our international presence and access new markets in the coming period." He continued, "Investing in healthcare is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and transformation in the healthcare sector."

Dr. Elsobky added, "Health tourism is a vital sector that can contribute to economic development and increased investments in Egypt. Through these protocols, we will exchange experiences and knowledge with international partners and promote medical tourism programs in Egypt." He further stated, "We aim to achieve the best possible returns from health tourism, maximizing the resources and inputs of the Authority with investment returns that benefit citizens and economic growth, thus achieving Egypt's Vision 2030."


Dr. Ahmed Elsobky emphasized the importance of Egypt's Vision 2030 in developing the healthcare sector and enhancing healthcare services for Egyptians and visitors to Egypt. He pointed out that these protocols reflect the ambitious aspirations of the Authority to strengthen healthcare capacities and develop healthcare infrastructure in Egypt. Elsobky expressed optimism about the future of health tourism in Egypt and achieving significant successes in this field. He noted that these protocols will contribute to attracting foreign tourists and boosting the Egyptian economy.

He reiterated the efforts to provide excellent healthcare and enhance international cooperation to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030 and develop the healthcare and health tourism sectors in Egypt on a global scale.

It is worth mentioning that the International Health Tourism Conference in Egypt, held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Republic, and attended by His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, under the slogan "Echoes of the Past Resonating Today," took place in the New Administrative Capital on March 2nd and 3rd. The conference was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din, Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs and former Minister of Health, and Honorary President of the Conference, Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai. The conference brought together a select group of ministers, governors, heads of authorities, health leaders from Egypt, Arab countries, Africa, and the world, as well as ambassadors, experts, specialists, prominent figures, and successful partners in the healthcare, health tourism, and investment sectors.
