Egypt, represented by the "Egypt Healthcare Authority," won the Diamond and Gold awards from the Arab Hospitals Federation in the fields of Patient Safety and Digital Transformation in Healthcare at the Arab level, in addition to five other awards won by the Authority's hospitals in various fields, from among more than 213 competitors from major hospitals and medical centers across the Arab world.
The Authority explained that the winning hospitals included Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital, the 30th of June International Center for Nephrology and Urology, and Taiba Specialized Hospital, which received the Golden Champion awards in the categories of the safest hospitals and patient safety culture. In addition, Ismailia Medical Complex and Al-Shifa Medical Complex won Silver Champion awards.
This achievement came during the participation of Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Egypt Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, in the annual meeting of the Arab Hospitals Federation "MedHealth", held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on October 29-30, 2024. The event celebrated the silver jubilee of the federation, marking its 25th anniversary.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence of the United Arab Emirates, and Dr. Alice Yamin Bouez, CEO of the Arab Hospitals Federation, presented Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky with the Diamond and Gold awards from the Federation in the fields of Patient Safety and Digital Transformation in Healthcare at the Arab level. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs and Prevention, Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Major General Dr. Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement and Medical Supply, Dr. Ahmed Taher, Chairman of the General Authority for Accreditation and Regulatory Health, and Dr. Ahmed Ezz Eldin, CEO and Managing Director of Cleopatra Hospitals Group, along with a group of ministers and senior leaders in the Arab health sector.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky expressed his great pride and joy at Egypt, represented by the Egypt Healthcare Authority, winning the Diamond and Gold awards from the Arab Hospitals Federation, in addition to five other awards. He indicated that these awards are a culmination of the Authority's efforts in digital transformation, sustainability, and quality healthcare, reflecting Egypt's commitment to establishing a healthcare system that meets future aspirations and keeps up with its developments.
