Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care, Assistant to the Minister of Health and Population, and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, revealed that Luxor Governorate will be the second governorate in the first phase in implementing the comprehensive health insurance system.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, said in a statement today, the comprehensive health insurance system in Luxor ensures the provision of integrated health care and the achievement of comprehensive health coverage for the system’s beneficiaries from the people of the governorate in accordance with the latest international standards. .
Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky explained that the total cost of the new comprehensive health insurance project in Luxor Governorate is 9.625 billion pounds, which includes 7.300 billion pounds, the cost of the infrastructure of health facilities to work within the new system, which are 59 health centers and units and 7 hospitals, in addition to 1,800 billion pounds in cost. Medical and non-medical equipment for these facilities, and 525 million pounds, the operating cost of the system for a period of three months.
Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care, Assistant Minister of Health and Population, and General Supervisor of the comprehensive health insurance project in the governorates, pointed out that providing services and integrated health care and achieving comprehensive health coverage for Egyptians through the new comprehensive health insurance project is a national priority for the Egyptian government. With the distinguished health services it provides in accordance with the latest international standards for citizens, and in a manner that serves the project’s work mechanism based on eliminating the existing disparities by providing safe health care for all Egyptians, including the most vulnerable groups, with quality, dignity and without discrimination.
